A few words about Free Touring
Free Touring is a company that provides mountain guiding services and ski mountaineering trips.
At Free Touring, our choice of mountains for skiing is based on the best and most enjoyable lines, while maintaining proper proportions each time.
Our priority is to ski on safe slopes with fresh snow.
We may put in a little more effort for a climb, but the descent that follows always rewards us for all our hard work!
Freedom, passion and safety in the world of mountain and Ski Mountaineering
At Free Touring, we believe in the freedom of expression through skiing. There are no stereotypes or limitations!
Apart from the constraints imposed by the terrain and snow conditions, the way we enjoy our favorite activity,is personal for each individual and without restrictions.
The field and snow conditions,are the only things that influence our tactics and approach,to a destination.
To achieve our goals, we have created a network of partners that guarantees the absolute success of our events, both within and beyond borders.
In Greece, our programs are carried out through Trekking Hellas Ioannina. Our international trips are organized in collaboration with All World Skiing, a company that literally organizes ski mountaineering trips worldwide.
Our collaboration with All World Skiing started in 2018 with guiding and implementing their programs in Greece. We truly feel privileged to be able to participate in these particular programs, which are characterized by the high level of services provided!
GEORGE ROKAS
Mountain Guide
George Rokas started engaging in mountaineering and skiing during his teenage years. In 1989, he entered the world of climbing, and during the winter months, he began exploring the snowy slopes of Pindus, with ski mountaineering. He has climbed and skied down most of the mountains in Greece and has repeated several routes in the Alps.
In 1998, he successfully attended the Assistant Mountaineering Instructors School, and his educational activities began. George became a Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor and a Ski Mountaineering Instructor of the Greek Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (EOOA) in 2005, as well as a Mountain Guide in 2007. He has organized mountaineering and climbing schools, as well as ski mountaineering schools, from 1998 to 2022.
Since 2004, he has been managing the mountain refuge of Astraka while simultaneously practicing the profession of a Mountain Guide.
In 2022, he founded Free Touring, a personal project,through which he provides, the services of a Mountain Guide for trips involving ski mountaineering in Greece and abroad.
